Winter draws in.
Less opportunities for evening/morning rides.
I chose to sign up for a gym to see what it could offer me in the form of stationary indoor cycling.
As it turns out, they offer a horrible form of hell which has nothing whatsoever in common with riding a bike.
When i’m riding a flat, i gear up. When i’m riding a hill I gear down. Cadence and Speed being the two things that occupy my concentration.
Apparently the geniuses behind stationary cycling decided to do away with these helpful metaphors and just go straight for ‘difficult’ and ‘super fucking easy’.
I propose designing a new form of stationary indoor cycling which takes the benefits of rollers and offers it up to those who either have no bike to put on said rollers or them who isn’t so interested in warping his wheels.
Keep the ‘hill programmes’ and all the other nonsense, no beef there, but let me change gear and feedback the speed hike.
